In All the movies, Balto has never had a family, but his parents. his mother is a white wolf (Many think she is the same wolf from Balto 2, who's name is Aniu. for more info visit 'Theories' in the 'Films' section) and Balto's father is a unidentified Pure Bred husky. for now, Balto has no brothers or sisters.

Balto in the first film, starts out as an outcast. he runs to the sidelines of the race, and stares out at the beautiful pure bred husky, Jenna. Jenna's owner (Rosy) loses her musher hat and it falls in the race track. quickly, Balto runs to save it. he runs up right next to Steele and picks it up just in time................................... after a while, (i skipped some short scenes so it wouldn't spoil the movie.) suddenly, This terrible disease, (diphtheria) spreads to all the children in the town............................... because Balto didn't make the teams that would get the medicine, he tracks down Steele and helps the team........... after struggle, he makes it home and cures the medicine.
